Let’s talk adventure sessions! Have you scrolled through Pinterest and looked at countless wedding photos and portrait sessions and just felt like none of them really felt like YOU? Let’s talk about you – (or maybe me?) – you hate high heels, you don’t own a single fancy dress that makes you feel great about yourself, you don’t care what the kardashians are up to, and your perfect night “out” is a glass of wine on the back porch. If you’d rather spend your weekend by a campfire or taking a hike with your dog instead of shopping in the big city – you are in the right place. I’ve got just the experience for you!
What makes adventure sessions special and how is it different from a regular photo session?
An adventure session is unique because it’s not just about photos, but about getting outside your comfort zone (or into your comfort zone if you’re like me and would rather be outside in a pair of boots than anywhere else). You don’t have to “dress up” in fact – please don’t! I have a strict no cocktail dresses, no dress shoes, and no – and I mean NO polo shirts policy.
Are adventure sessions for engagements only?
Not at all! The thing about the great outdoors is that it’s available to be enjoyed by everyone! You don’t need a specific reason like engagement photos to get out and explore! If you would buy a beautiful photo or painting and hang it over your couch that has a mountain scene or a waterfall or a beautiful sunset – why not get one that has YOU in that scene as well and remember a great day!?
Do I have to be outdoorsy to go on an adventure session?
While being comfortable in the outdoors in a big plus, you don’t have to own all the latest gear and have the trail map memorized to enjoy an adventure session! I have spent years exploring and can recommend the perfect location and activity for us! To be clear though, adventure sessions are not spending thirty mins posing with the flowers in your local park. There’s going to be a lot of walking [hiking], we’re going to get dirty, take a few risks, and spend half a day outside away from all creature comforts. You’d be amazed what kind of connections you can make out past where the wifi ends.
. . . . . . . . .
Heather and Adam are getting married this November at Lingrow Farm! They are both active, love their dogs, hunting, hiking, and being outside! I asked them if they would be up for a little adventure, and they enthusiastically agreed! We got really lucky since spring was just around the corner, that March had one last really big snowstorm to give us. We watched the forecast, and when the flakes started falling, we drove a few hours to Ohiopyle, PA to do some hiking at Cucumber Falls! We were rewarded with an AMAZING day of hiking, frozen winter scenery, and playing with puppies in the snow!
Chiweeeeenieee !!!!!
