I feel like an old lady writing this – but quite a few years back, I shot Chris’ high school senior pictures. In fact, I did senior pictures for Chris, his sister Kayla, and their brother Nick! One of the greatest honors of my job is being a story teller for people’s families. When people come back again and again at every milestone, I’m thrilled to be a silent part of their story. This will be the second wedding I’ve had the privilege to document for the McClelland family. (Kayla has a one year anniversary coming up! 🙂
Skyler had a crush on Chris since the 7th grade, but the first time they “officially” met wasn’t until 9th grade geometry class. Chris noticed her doodling a set of balloons in her notebook and struck up a conversation. They dated for two years in high school, but as life often does – time marched on, things changed, graduation, college, they parted ways for a few years. In 2011, they reconnected and have been together ever since. When you meet them, you can tell – they are both old souls, happy to be safe in each others arms. Once a couple books their wedding with us, we send out a little survey to each of them to get to know them better. One of the questions is to name an experience in your life that you wish you could do over. Chris said if he could go back and do it all again, he would go back to high school, realize what they had, and never let Skyler get away.
I can’t wait to be there when they make this Forever official 🙂
Skyler and Chris both love animals, especially their dog, Kimber. She was a champ!
