Tomorrow, Scott and Amanda will celebrate their very first wedding anniversary! Their story began in 2007. Amanda was a Pennsylvania native who met Scott during senior year of college through mutual friends and they hit it off right away. Six years later, they were living together in Colorado working and enjoying all of the scenery that the Rocky Mountains had to offer. They loved exploring the National Parks and spending time with their two dogs, Mabel and Dixie 🙂 On a weekend trip to Telluride, Scott suggested a gondola ride to the top of the mountain before it got dark. The skiers had all gone home for the day and after a few photos over looking the town, Scott got down on one knee and proposed. Amanda said “yes!” and the ski patrol even took their picture on top of the mountain!
The following summer, they were married in a private ceremony in Aspen, Colorado and came back to Pennsylvania to celebrate with their family and friends with a rustic barn wedding reception at Armstrong Farms Westminter Preserve in Saxonburg, PA. The weather was sunny and beautiful. Amanda had saved her wedding dress and waited to put it on till she got to Pennsylvania so that Scott could see it for the first time!
Amanda gave Scott a set of custom engraved guitar picks as a wedding present. Before their guests arrived, the couple wanted to have a few moments to share with just each other. Scott waited under the shade of the arbor and Amanda came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned around, he saw her in her wedding dress for the first time.
Amanda and Scott greeted all of their guests as they stepped off the shuttle and since they were already married, they had cocktail hour immediately on the lawn!
The sunset was beautiful, we even got photos with their dogs, Mabel and Dixie Mae, who rode all the way from Colorado with them!
We loved the heart shaped bird seed ornaments that they gave out as favors.
Thanks to some magic light and a little dirt road dust, this was one of our favorite shots, it even went on to be featured as Bridal Guide Magazine’s Photo of the Day!
Amanda and Scott celebrated their love of the National Parks with a donation towards preserving the parks for others to enjoy!
A live band rocked the barn that night and even let Scott get behind the drums for an amazing jam session!
Happy one year anniversary! We miss you guys!! 😀 😀
